CompletedRough EstimateA combined upgrade and partial new-build project on the Mannheim–Karlsruhe corridor, one of the most heavily used mixed-traffic rail sections in Germany with ICE, regional, S-Bahn, and heavy freight services all competing for capacity. The project adds tracks and separates traffic flows to relieve the bottleneck on the Upper Rhine corridor, which feeds into both the ABS Karlsruhe–Basel southward and the NBS Frankfurt–Mannheim northward. Detailed planning is ongoing as part of the broader Deutschlandtakt programme.
