The German continuation of the Dutch Betuwe freight corridor, upgrading the 73 km line between Emmerich (Dutch border) and Oberhausen to three tracks with ETCS signalling. A critical bottleneck on the Rhine-Alpine TEN-T corridor for European freight traffic. Completion has shifted from 2024 to approximately 2030.
