A 7.4 km long-distance rail tunnel beneath Frankfurt city centre, connecting Frankfurt Süd with a new underground station at Frankfurt Hbf and continuing to Frankfurt Stadion. The tunnel will separate long-distance traffic from S-Bahn and regional trains, doubling the throughput of Germany's busiest railway node. A cornerstone of the Deutschlandtakt concept.
